The IT industry is witnessing a dynamic shift, not just in technology, tools, infrastructure and methodology, but in the choice of geographical locations for outsourcing and offshoring, as well. As the outsourcing industry matures, a dynamic shift simultaneously takes place across regional outsourcing landscapes. Historically, organizations have been able to tap into relative wage differentials across geographies to build a strong value proposition for offshoring. While cost arbitrage continues to be a significant driver of global sourcing for most companies, the cost advantage is slowly diminishing due to factors like wage inflation, talent scarcity and throughput. Organizations, who are diversifying their outsourcing locations are looking for increased flexibility to service delivery, build new capabilities with access to local skill and to leverage the growth in the domestic economy.

Transition your IT infrastructure from Managed Services to Shared Services In the last decade, enterprises have been exploring transformation from T&M to Managed Services for IT Infrastructure Management. The aim was to achieve additional productivity improvements, maintain operational control, and reduce TCO. This move was inevitable due to the inherent characteristic of Managed services, where vendors manage the entire portfolio with accountability. Responsibilities and deliverables are clearly defined and documented at both project and portfolio level. Interfaces between projects are well defined with full operational control and complete visibility into IT operations.

Businesses have now realized the importance of questioning any shift in IT strategy to map any decision to change or not with business benefits. It is important to see the value when moving away from the systems that you have been using for years or even decades. IT upgrades are beyond the face value of version changes and a routine procedure; they need to be seen as complex IT projects.
